The 2017 award goes to Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee was the 44th Governor of Arkansas, He served from 1996 until 2007 becoming one of the longest serving Governors in his state’s history. 


He has been a candidate for the Republican nomination for president twice, and hosted his own TV show on the Fox News Channel. Governor Huckabee is a New York Times bestselling author, having written 12 books. 


The committee: 


Through a life of service as a pastor and politician, Mike Huckabee has been an unfailing friend of Israel. He has demonstrated courage and integrity, and been a knowledgeable and eloquent defender of the Jewish people and their state of Israel. He has brought a large number of pilgrims, to Israel, organizing trips from 1981, and he continues to do so.


In his political service, Governor Huckabee has been a principled Christian ideologue. He is a statesman who embodies truth and virtue. His life and service is a testimony to his Christian faith.
